E-Mail Settings
Note: The settings below are for customers receiving e-mail @openaccess.org or @nas.com. If you have a WebHosting account please follow the instructions for WebHosting E-Mail Support.

Information for @OpenAccess.org e-mail accounts (first contact us by phone at 360-647-0785; OA email is under maintenance)

Outlook
Old Outlook: go to Tools => Account Settings (a.k.a. Accounts or Email Accounts)
New Outlook (2010+): go to File => Account Settings => Account Settings
Add a new account
  • Type: POP3 (unsynchronized inbox; "unlimited" space) or IMAP (synchronized inbox; limited space)
  • Name: how you want people to see your name.
  • Email address/Username: username@openaccess.org
  • Password: contact us for your new password.
  • Incoming/outgoing server: cp601.openaccess.org
  • More settings >> Outgoing Server tab >> check the first box for My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
  • More settings >> Advanced tab >> check the box under incoming for SSL. Check the box under outgoing for SSL or change the dropdown to SSL.
  • Incoming port should be 995 (POP3) or 993 (IMAP).
  • Outgoing port should be 465.
  • Test sending and receiving mail (call us for help).
Mac Mail 3.2 (your menus text may differ)
Mail => Preferences => "Accounts" tab.
Click the '+' icon at the bottom left to add an account.
  • Type: POP3 (unsynchronized inbox; "unlimited" space) or IMAP (synchronized inbox; limited space)
  • Name: how you want people to see your name.
  • Email address/Username: username@openaccess.org
  • Password: contact us for your new password.
  • Incoming/outgoing server: cp601.openaccess.org
  • SSL is required for both
  • Incoming port should be 995 (POP3) or 993 (IMAP).
  • Outgoing port should be 587.
  • Test sending and receiving mail (call us for help).
Thunderbird
Tools => Account Settings => Click "Account Actions" at the bottom left => Click "Add Mail Account"
  • Name: how you want people to see your name.
  • Email address/Username: username@openaccess.org
  • Password: contact us for your new password.
  • Hit continue, then Manual Config.
  • Incoming: POP3 (unsynchronized inbox; "unlimited" space) or IMAP (synchronized inbox; limited space)
  • Incoming/outgoing server: cp601.openaccess.org.
  • Change both rows for Encryption to SSL/TLS.
  • Change both rows for Authentication to Normal password.
  • Incoming port should be 995 (POP3) or 993 (IMAP).
  • Outgoing port should be 465.
  • Test sending and receiving mail (call us for help).

WebMail and Spam Filters - https://cp601.openaccess.org:2096/
This page allows you to access your e-mail through your web browser. Log in with your e-mail username and password. Do not include @openaccess.org in your username.
Before selecting Horde, RoundCube, or SquirrelMail, you can change your password or adjust spam filter settings with the small icons along the bottom.

Information for @NAS.com e-mail accounts

Incoming Mail Server (POP3/IMAP server) - nas.openaccess.org
This server is used to receive e-mail. Log in with your full e-mail address and password. You MUST include @nas.com in your username. Secure Authentication, TLS and SSL Encryption are supported.

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP server) - nas.OpenAccess.org
This server is used to send e-mail. It requires authentication to be enabled in your email application, using the same username and password as your incoming server. TLS & SSL Encryption are supported.
This page allows you to access your e-mail through your web browser. Log in with your e-mail username and password. Do not include @nas.com in your username.

2010.07.15 NAS.COM wholesale VPS and WebHosting services
This fall, OpenAccess will be re-purposing the 'nas.com' domain name to provide VPS and WebHosting services, primarily wholesale to web developers. If you have an e-mail address @nas.com, or a personal website located at http://www.nas.com/~yourusername, those services will continue be supported although we will not be accepting new accounts.

Due to popular request, we now have a Joomla auto-installer available on our newer cPanel® servers.  This allows customers to quickly and easily install Joomla on their website.  The auto-installer is available under the 'site software' section in the administrative interface of your webhosting account.
